Happy Birthday! War is NOT over!
On Friday evening C and I decided to head out to the "John Lennon, The New York Years" book reading Bob Gruen was giving at the Barnes and Nobles on 22nd street. My mom had agreed to babysit and I thought it would be nice to get out on a Friday night. Even when I went out all the time I wasn't big on Friday night outings.
Anyways we were running late as usual and when we started walking down the subway steps I heard the train coming so I started running when C reminded me that there's probably a check point because the Subways were on high terror alert. When we got to the turnstyle there were four cops standing there but they didnt' check us and it hit me that I was going to a reading for a book about John Lennon and there was a high security terror alert on our subways and then I thought.. "maybe it's a good thing John didn't live to see this". I started wondering what would John be doing right had he not died... would the CIA have assassinated him by now anyways.. would George Bush have ever made it into office?
The book reading was fantastic. The Q&A afterwards was very cool. Bob Gruen is a very open, real person and you can just see why John chose him to be his friend/photographer. I will hopefully be doing some more work for Bob and then one day when I can shake this weight I will have my photo taken. He asked me at the book signing .. "when are you going to have your picture taken?'. I am owed a photo shoot by him. It's coming ....
Happy Birthday John Lennon - 65
Wish on your birthday I could say "War is Over"
Earthquake in South East Asia
So the death toll in South East Asia, India, Pakistan and Islamabad has reached 20,000. This has to be the worst year as far as Natural Disasters are concerned. Well then again, with all that is happenning in Iraq and then the UK train bombings I have to say natural and unnatural disasters.
Earlier this week there also mud slides in Central America that killed hundreds.
Cherish the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a reading and book signing at Barnes and Nobles this evening in Chelsea by Bob Gruen for his new John Lennon Book called "John Lennon - The New York Years". Bob Gruen was not only John Lennon's personal photographer from 1972 until his death but also his very good friend. I can't believe on Sunday John would've been 65 and it's now almost 25 years since he was gunned down. 25 sad years later and he is still missed like yesterday.

Another Day ... Another Tattoo
Actually I have one tattoo. A small one on the most common place for women coming of age to get tattoos. Shoulder Blade.
Anyways.. its something I never see so I never even think about unless I am dealing with a certain tattoo artist client. I did some web marketing stuff for Marco and things were going well.. he was getting good business and then suddenly things just stopped....
He contacted me to see if I could figure out what the problem was. We ended up talking about a friend of mine who used to live here from France who I'll refer to as M who got a tattoo of the gyspy on the Gitane Box and then soon after was diagnosed with hepatitis. We went into deep conversation about the business and about how it could've been a sterilization problem. Anyways M got so sick .. she couldn't work and had to go back to France. I heard from her about two years ago but still think about her all the time. She was a wonder ful woman and I hope she's doing okay.

Okay.. my first blog post. Hey, I figure.. "google's now got a blog search" why not start a blog. I have a lot to say most of the time. When signing up with blogger.com, I couldn't figure out what I'd be writing about. I guess I will more or less use this space to write about my day to day life. My days range from very simple to extremely complex.
